I start with the assumption that every human being has a purpose and the ability to be a productive member of society. I believe that we all have an optimal self and that it is helpful to have someone act as a mirror and a support to keep moving toward that optimal self. I primarily utilize the practice of neuropsychotherapy, although this approach leaves room for most other theories under its umbrella. My approach often employs the theory and techniques of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Adlerian, and Existential therapies. I believe in a healthy mind, body, and soul, and in that vein, I provide counseling in spiritual matters tailored to each client’s personal beliefs. I am proud of my formal education, and I obviously could not do this work without it. However, the key to my ability to help others has always been the education I’ve garnered through my own life experiences. I draw on both of these influences as appropriate.

Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in the state of North Carolina. If you are looking for an individual who has experience in a variety of service delivery settings, I believe you will find that my clinical experience will meet your needs. Several of the therapeutic techniques I use, include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Reality Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In my 17 year career as a therapist, I have significant experience working with individuals dealing with mental health diagnoses as well as individuals with substance use disorders. I have provided individual, group, and family counseling as a Substance Abuse Counselor working with opioid addicts using Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT). Also, I have been employed as an Outpatient Therapist providing community based mental health and substance abuse counseling to children, adults, and families. I have extensive experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness as a Community Support Team-Team Lead. I have worked with individuals that were court ordered into substance use treatment; those that required in-patient treatment for mental health and substance use issues; and as a Counselor and Program Manager at a treatment center which provided individual and group counseling for patients receiving MAT. My specialties include Substance Use Disorders, Stress and Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Motivation, Self-Esteem, and Confidence. I also enjoy working with clients that are experiencing concerns regarding Mood Disorders, Panic Disorders and Panic Attacks, Posttraumatic Stress, Work Place issues, Body Image issues, Chronic Pain Issues and Disability, Infidelity, Self Harm, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Communication Problems, LGBTQ+ issues, and Life Purpose/Life Transition Issues. I can interact with you in whatever manner you feel most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. However, I am also available to you via telephone, and live chat if that is more comfortable for you. I have availability on weekdays, evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings. I look forward to working with you!!!

Montana
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor bringing 23 years of experience with individuals of various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. My approach is very laid back. I feel that I am very personable and easy to talk to. I have worked with individuals with all types of issues in both in-patient settings like prisons and hospitals to out-patient settings like one on one therapy in the community or in even providing in home services. I do not use one therapy approach. Each client and each situation is unique and you have to go with what is needed for that session. I am here to help you make the changes that you need, not make the changes for you. I look forward to meeting you! I am currently licensed in Kansas, Montana, and Idaho.

I am a Clinical Mental Health Therapist with over 16 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in community mental health, educational and private practice settings. Prior to that, I spent 20 years in pastoral ministry. I completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2008 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and soon after moved to Northwest New Mexico/Southwest Colorado. My professional experience includes: Administrator of a Residential Treatment Center, Clinical Administrator for Children's Behavioral Health, Student Assistance Coordinator for a school district, Visiting Professor at a School of Social Work, Private Practice, Outpatient Clinical Manager, Health Services Coordinator for a school district, and Integrated Behavioral Health Provider in a family medical practice setting. In addition to working with high risk/high needs children and adolescents, I work primarily with trauma as well as anxiety and depression. I also serve as a Certified First Responder Counselor. My counseling approach is collaborative and skill based from the perspective that people aren't "broken" and need to be "fixed" and instead are seeking to improve their lives to be stronger and healthier. My role then becomes a guide and companion on the alternative life journey that people choose. The first step on your new journey has been taken by reaching out for help. I look forward to traveling along that journey with you for a while.
