I know how difficult but rewarding the process of self-change can be. I hope to offer empowerment and validation to the clients that I work with, as well as solutions to the problems you are facing. I am a big believer in positive thinking, and that small steps can add up to big changes. I know taking steps to better yourself can feel daunting, and I am here to offer support and accountability on that journey. If your efforts to achieve change typically result in to-do lists that become lists of unaccomplished goals, please reach out to me and allow me to assist you. I spent many long years of my life working odd jobs and wandering around life aimlessly before finding my calling in therapy. I attended the University of Central Florida to complete my Master's in mental health, and I have worked in community mental health agencies, including traditional outpatient, inpatient, schools and clinics, substance abuse, and with adults and children from diverse walks of life and backgrounds. I have a Solution-Focused background and utilize elements of CBT, and ACT. I am a big believer in the science of mental health and what current research shows, and I like to find approaches that are tailored to my individual clients. I also believe that our experiences in life have lasting impact, which is not something to be battled against, but rather incorporated into our own personal versions of mental health. I believe in research and skill-building, but also that this is not a one-size fits all process. I look forward to working with you to achieve change in your life!

Whatever the challenge you are facing today, counseling can help you find your path to your authentic self and a life you love and deserve. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor licensed in Texas with over 27 years of experience working as a professional counselor and life coach. My practice has transitioned into one that promotes growth and change in individual adults and couples. I am trained in mediation and as a collaborative law counseling facilitator. My practice specializes in women’s issues, relationship issues, and individual transition issues. I assist employers, employees, students, athletes, and professional performance artists in the process of tapping into their core self to release the optimum level in talent, skill, and productivity. Counseling can be what you make of it; therefore, I utilize a multifaceted program of therapy (solution focused, client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral) in order to address your challenges which are as unique and individualized as are you. In other words, I am flexible in my approach. My goal is to meet you where you are in your journey and together, we will take the steps necessary toward living the life you want to live. During your counseling journey, my role is to help guide you in your discovery of the challenges you are facing and then reflect your feelings, statements, and actions in response to your identified challenges. We all need someone to listen and reflect to us (without fear of judgment) the story we tell of our struggles; therefore, counseling is meant for each one of us at some point in our lives. I believe this is the reason you are here learning about how I can be here for you – if you choose. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. Challenges impact every part of your life – mentally, physically, spiritually, so let’s start your journey today.

Hello my name is Sara P Klahr, I am proud that you are seeking professional counseling to overcome obstacles and create positive changes in your life. I have gathered 30 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings. I must admit I was not initially comfortable offering teletherapy until our recent national shutdown. I was not sure that genuine care and concern would not translate well. I have been nicely surprised to learn that it does! My counseling style is genuine, direct and non-judgmental. My counseling approach is client centered. Together we identify root causes of stressors and optimum coping techniques to bring about a long lasting changes. It takes courage to live this life we have been given. I would be honored to walk a part of it with you!

Welcome! Have you had recent changes to your life or struggling with ongoing mental health issues? Maybe your adolescent is experiencing mood changes, behavioral issues or anxiety. I applaud you for searching for support and I believe that you have come to the right place. It takes courage to seek out counseling and share personal thoughts to get to the live you want. I want to walk beside you where ever you are at this time and help you reach your goals. Here is a little about me and how I plan to support you: I have a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University (2014) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Maine. After graduating, I began my career in a community Mental Health Clinic and have worked with children, teens and young adults predominately, but have some older patients that I also love working with. In addition, I work in the On-Crisis portion of this agency. Some of the therapies I use are DBT, CBT, EMDR and Motivational Therapy depending on the client's need. When it comes to small children I do utilize some art and game activities to help them move forward towards their goals and build on their strengths. The clients that I have worked with range from those with depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, self esteem and trauma issues and celebrate with them as they reached goal after goal. My therapeutic style involves helping you to arrive at insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive change in your life. Sometimes we can just sit and talk and when it is needed I love to provide concrete tools wherever possible and help you to have a plan for the following days before our next session, if that is the pace you would like to move at. Most importantly, we are going to make sure we are making progress on goals that you have for yourself. I will be there to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way. You may find it helpful to know that I have a lot of experience being the client in a counseling relationship and I was very nervous at first and need to know that the therapist/counselor was nonjudgmental and I would feel validated and understood when I shared things that I would never share outside of that office. People need to feel that their therapist/counselor treats them as they would expect to be treated if they were on the other side. If this is the kind of relationship you would like to have with your counselor, you’ve come to the right place.

Hi, I like clients to feel as if they are chatting with a friend when in session and feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Be assured that I will provide you with the support and guidance you need to achieve your desired mental health goals. I have been a therapist for 13 years and do so with compassion, dedication and directness with clients struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues at home, socially or at work. I also help those wishing to increase coping mechanisms when dealing with family/friends who abuse substances (co-dependency). By offering insightful, practical tools and informative interaction, using primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I will work with you every step of the way to bring about the changes you need to improve your thought processes and emotions. As I have stated, our work together will be direct and I will collaborate with you to facilitate a program personalized to your needs, helping you to make the necessary advancement you desire in your life. This will not only be talk- therapy sessions on a weekly basis, I will need your active participation through messaging and completing "assignments" to help us recognize your patterns of thoughts and feelings which then drive your behaviors, so that you can adjust and restructure them accordingly. I also have enjoyed professional experience providing spiritual guidance and reflection to foster personal growth and intimacy with the God of your understanding. Please, feel free to read the comments my past clients have voluntarily sent in about the results they have had working with me. I look forward to working together!
