Hello! My name is Tammy and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma and Texas. I have 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, in-home, and school-based. I have experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues.
My dedication to the field of mental health comes from a past experience, where my community was grappling from the effects of a F-5 tornado. I witnessed children, adults, and adolescents unable to identify or talk about their trauma. I wasn't qualified to help and I wanted to. Therefore, I went back to school and obtained my degree in counseling and was soon after licensed.
I would like to help you navigate the challenges that you may be facing. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults currently facing emotional challenges such as anger, anxiety, depression, school issues, and mood instability. I believe that effective interventions enables clients to take control of their feelings and behaviors by learning and understanding how their brain responds to various stressors. My counseling style is warm and interactive and I believe in treating everyone with respect. I feel that clients want someone they can connect with, trust, and talk with about difficult situations with that person. Establishing a relationship with your client is essential for true healing to happen.
I offer a variety of interventions aimed to assist adolescents and young adults find the solutions to their problems. I am a Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) Practitioner.. I have had great success working with adolescents and young adults who have struggled with traditional therapeutic interventions. I have an approach where I design interventions that fit each person's individual needs. I strive to make therapy engaging. I want to walk this difficult journey with you and help you find your place of healing and life-long happiness.

Dr. Marie Smith
I have received a Ph.D. and possess board licensure and certification at the state and national l level, as a licensed professional counselor, counselor supervisor, school counselor: k-12, educator and administrator. I have over 25 years of counseling experience. My clinical experiences have been across the age-span. I have provided treatment in schools, hospitals, clinics, and correctional facilities for adults and juveniles.
My scope of professional practice crosses the age span, focusing on societal established transitional milestones and the expectations in which we measure and develop personal self-acceptance through family, peer groups, school, career, and intimate relationships, as we cross various developmental stages.
As a veteran educator and administrator, I am able to integrate past and present experiences, with reflective thoughts of how we arrive to our current place, from childhood to adulthood.
My educational training also includes the ability to work with individuals previously diagnosed in childhood, young adulthood, or adult acquired disabilities, such as developmental disabilities, ADD/ADHD, impairments in learning: Specific Learning Disability, behavior, including sensory impairments such as autism, and cognitive/intellectual disabilities.
Family and couples' therapy is highly advocated, in my practice, when the evidence presents the need beyond individual or online therapy to achieve the articulated counseling goals. Referrals will be recommended, as identified.
In the therapy session, the presenting concerns may include, but is not limited to:
Coping Skills
Anger Management
Anxiety
Depression
Interpersonal Relationships-Teen through Adulthood
Adjustment and Adaptive Behavior Concerns
Trauma and Resiliency: Adverse Childhood Experiences
Divorce, Custody, and Mediation
College and Career Readiness
Workplace Dynamics
Problem Solving Skills

Hello and welcome! I am so glad you are here. It takes great courage to take the first step in seeking help.
My name is Norma Jean Salinas, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I earned my bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from The University of Texas at Austin, and my master’s degree in mental health counseling with "high distinction" from the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico. As a mid-life career changer loving my second act, I have accumulated extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in multiple therapeutic settings. I have also successfully treated individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds who were struggling with a variety of issues and challenges.
My style is very warm, empathetic, relaxed, and non-judgmental. At times, I may even use humor if the situation is appropriate. I like to use a client-centered approach because it allows you, the client, to direct your treatment. After all, the client knows himself/herself best and is the expert on his/her own life. My job is to collaborate with you, gently guide you, walk beside you, and hold space for you. I will always meet you where you are at and never force anything upon you.
I utilize an eclectic and integrative approach in working with my clients which means I pull from different evidence-based theories, modalities, and techniques so that I can tailor a treatment plan specific to your goals and needs because there is a no one-size-fits-all approach. This allows me to give you the various tools and skills that will best benefit you in meeting your goals and needs. Equally important is that you choose the right therapist who’s a good fit for you because building a good and solid therapeutic alliance between you (the client) and your therapist is crucial to a successful outcome.
I know that the unknown can be really scary sometimes, but you deserve to feel better and live a full and complete life, so if you are ready to take the next step, and you feel that we would be a good fit, let’s get started. I am here to support, encourage, and empower you, and I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

New York
I began helping people at a Mental Health Clinic in New York. This lead me to a three year training program in therapy at a New York City Hospital. I have also taught at several New York Universities and Colleges. My training was theoretical. However, decades of practice has adjusted my approach in treatment to be more practical in order to address the issues of stress, anxiety and depression to help you achieve a well adjusted and satisfying life.
I also acquired Certification in Critical Incident Stress Management while working with New York City Police, after the fall of the World Trade Center. This training has lent itself to helping people outside of the Department. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects many people on many levels. It also appears on multiple levels of degrees. Anxiety, stress and depression occur with separation and loss throughout life.
Recently, I completed a year of study on Adoption Competency at Georgia State University. This training has proven to be a great toil in addressing and helping people with other separations and losses. Loss can cause anxiety, stress and in divorce, death and numerous other unexpected incidents in life.
If you are willing to begin the journey to discover what is causing your discomfort, lets talk. I am looking forward to meeting you.
Thank You,

North Carolina
Hello! My name is Kristin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina with over ten years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: individual and group outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient therapy with community-based interventions, and treatment teams serving individuals with co-occurring disorders. I currently also serve as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I graduated from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in 2013 with my MA in Counseling and have enjoyed working with a variety of individuals since.
My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed and humanistic: I believe each individual has their own unique set of strengths, abilities, and experiences which are equally valuable. I also believe that each individual deserves a safe and non-judgmental space to explore ideas about themselves and how they fit in the world (unconditional positive regard). My hope in working with you is that I can support you through your own process of self-discovery and improved self-efficacy (knowing you are capable of healing and working towards your goals).
My therapeutic style draws from several different treatment modalities, which I use interchangeably to meet your needs. These include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Each of these modalities offers strategies we can use together to help you identify your own personal values, hope and motivation, as well as assist you in learning ways to challenge the inner beliefs and dialogue that may be acting as barriers to your self-esteem and confidence.
Let me know if you have any questions. Finding a counselor you feel connected with is important.
