It is with great pride and humility that I come to you prepared to listen and talk so together we can work for you TO BE YOUR BEST SELF AND WHOM YOU ARE CREATED TO BE!
My name is Chinwe Matilda Nzerue-Obi and I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I got my Masters Degree from University of Houston Victoria, Texas. Prior to this, I was an Attorney from Nigeria: having graduated from The Counsel of Legal Education, Victoria Island Lagos and with a Law degree from University of Jos. I am also a Certified Christian Counselor for the benefit of clients who draw strength from their faith.
For Interventions, my theoretical approach is Solution Focused Brief Therapy because I believe that when people “need help, help can not wait”. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help keep the mind and body whole. I have been privileged to help near school drop outs get back into school, stay in school, and graduate; helped couples at the brink of divorce save their marriage; worked with and helped people of all ages overcome – Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Substance use/abuse, Parenting and Relationship issues among others. I hold a Multicultural Counseling Certification and a Real Estate License too; all these have enhanced my ability to work across ages, cultures and countries. No matter what the issue is, you too can be helped.
I believe that with determination and the will for a better life we will help you BE THE BEST YOU ARE CREATED TO BE and enjoy your best life!

I am a professional counselor licensed in the State of Oklahoma with 10 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, in outpatient settings; such as in office, homes, and schools. I view counseling as much more than a vocation-- but as a purpose and calling; and I also thoroughly enjoy the variety and challenge that navigating through Clients' situations can bring.
I have treated (and continue to work with) Clients of a wide--range of demographics; with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety/panic, self-esteem, relationship communication and intimacy issues, parenting problems, and career challenges. I have worked with many people who have struggled with issues in divorce, as well as emotional and/or narcissistic abuse. I have had experience in working in a domestic violence offenders’ group counseling setting, as well.
My counseling style is warm, accepting, and intuitive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, empathy, and compassion, as I work to emphasize my clients’ strengths and abilities. My approach combines a Person-Centered/ Motivational Interviewing; cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, existential, family systems, as applicable. I will tailor our sessions to your needs; as we can also work together to form a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific goals.
I further subscribe to the belief in the role of the therapist which is to 'draw out', or to motivate, to support, to encourage; to provide knowledge of psychotherapeutic tools, thought constructs, as well as ideas and resources, to augment a client's mental/ behavioral health/ relationship communication.
In beginning your process of change, empowerment, and self-love discovery today; I invite you; my future valued client--to walk alongside you; on any stage of your journey.
Looking Onward and Upward,
Angela Alderman-Shotton, LPC
“The paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Florida with 25 years of experience, working with clients with depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, bereavement issues, issues of sexuality, ADHD, and job-related problems. I have experience working with incarcerated populations, and have helped people cope with the isolation and separation involved, with dealing with the emotional and physical abuse in their past, and with transitioning back into open society. I believe in treating each client with warmth and respect, and value each person for their own individuality. My style combines Cognitive Behavioral. Humanistic, and Solution-Focused therapies, and is always directed by the specific needs of my clients. I respect those that have the courage to address their issues and look forward to supporting and empowering you to make the changes needed for a fuller and happier life. Because I am licensed in Florida, all online therapy, by law, must be video. If you have a problem with this, please click on the upper right hand corner of your page and choose change therapist. Be sure and specify that you want a therapist that is NOT licensed only in Florida, and why. Thank you

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana. I have worked in social services for over 25 years in various capacities--as a direct care worker in a group home for developmentally-disabled adults, as a staff worker at a homeless shelter for teens, as a licensed counselor in a crisis counseling program in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) working with children, teens, and adults who receive Medicaid. The clients I have helped have struggled with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.
I see counseling as a way to help someone express feelings and thoughts in a safe environment, possibly for the first time. My approach combines Rogerian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Motivational Enhancement.
Counseling/therapy is a challenging endeavor and an adventure. I find those who stick with it come out more mature and more whole.
