“Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul.”― C.G. Jung Hello, my name is Kenyatta Dent and I am a Licensed Professional Counseling in Mississippi. I love helping others overcome obstacles through goal setting and finding potential solutions to problems that are causing emotional turmoil in their lives. Like Carl Rogers, I believe a clinician should be empathetic, congruent, and have unconditional positive regard. When working with my clients, it is my job to provide an atmoshphere that is conducive to change. I have over 10 years experience working in the mental health field. I've served as a school based therapist providing services to children with behavior problems. Most of the children I have worked with were diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant, and some trauma. I currently provide individual and group counseling services to male inmates who have been diagnosed with substance abuse disorders in a correctional facility . I also facilitate groups on Anger Management and Basic Cognitive Skills. My counseling approach is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered, and Motivational Interviewing. I currently hold a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling and Master's in Counseling/Psychology. I look forward to working with you!

Hello! I'm Jenny, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Since graduating from IU School of Social work in 2011, my focus has mostly been on those with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. I have worked with several individuals on the Autism spectrum, as well as individuals with Down's Syndrome, ADHD, Bi-polar disorder, GAD, among others. I have worked as a behavior therapist for the past 8 years and am looking to continue to help others through additional platforms. I believe it is important to focus on the individual and determine what works best for each person. I tend to focus more on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as utilizing a strength based approach. Overall, I would say I utilize an individualized eclectic approach. Reaching out for help is an incredible sign of strength and I applaud you for making that first step. If you would like me to assist you on that path, feel free to contact me.

Florida
Hi, my name is Monica. First, let me say that it takes a certain type of bravery to ask for help from anyone, let alone a stranger. It is different than the bravery it takes to protect our country or our cities, different than the bravery it takes to walk into a room full of people, and even different than what it takes to perform on stage or on an athletic field. So please take a moment to acknowledge this and recognize the positivity! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have worked in the mental health field for 21 years in some capacity, including community mental health, forensic assessment, and school counseling. What I find most gratifying is that "light bulb" moment when the person in front of me realizes and understands their worth, their strength, or that sense of connecting the dots which is so empowering for growth. I work with the individual to help them see past the personal obstacles that brought them to me in the first place and be able to find the happiness or feel relief they seek. I listen, I accept, and I coach you into a better state of mental balance. My approach to therapy is to challenge thoughts and behaviors that impede productive living; having said that, I also like to tailor my technique to the person I'm interacting with. I place most of my focus on our therapeutic relationship, which is the key to our success. I recently have found a passion for helping those courageous individuals in first responder fields. I have training in Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with those living with anxiety, grief, life changes, stress, or whatever else might interfere with living the life you deserve. So pull up a "couch" (or your favorite chair or happy place, because with BetterHelp, you can do this wherever you feel most comfortable) and let's get started. I am ready to listen and do what I can to help.
