I am a provisional Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University in 2009. I have been providing support to children, adolescences, adults with disabilities, and their families since 2003. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, Mood Disorders, and ADHD. I also have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
It’s an honor to be able to come along side others during their journey. I am passionate about helping women, parents raising adolescents and/or foster children, and young adults. It has also been a pleasure supporting foster parents as they learn various behavioral management techniques to best support a child demonstrating challenging behaviors. My counseling style is a strengths-based approach and I use a collaborative problem solving approach to help tackle life’s challenges. But I have learned along the way there is nothing to big for God to help us through. He has taught me I can trust in Him and His plans are greater than my plans.(Jeremiah 28:11, Romans 8:28-29)

Hi - I'm Sam! My pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified life and confidence coach who loves working with clients ages 20-39. My clients get the best of both worlds when we work together: the clinical expertise of a mental health professional combined with the daily encouragement and accountability structures of a certified life coach. My clinical expertise is in treating posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, and phobias. I use evidence-based therapy modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Grief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Crisis Response Planning. As a coach, I love coaching people around topics such as self-compassion, boundary-setting, life purpose, money mindset, decision-making, and assertive communication.
My therapy style is empathic, direct, and goal-oriented, and I am extremely collaborative in my sessions. I want us to be on the same page, and we will work closely together to develop your treatment plan, overcome your "stuck points," experience healing, and begin truly living your life, again (not just existing in it!).
You will quickly notice my laid-back nature in our sessions. I encourage all of my clients to come as they are, and I will do the same! You will always be welcome and encouraged to ask any and all questions that come up during our sessions because I want you to take an active role in your care. I am passionate about teaching my clients how to advocate for themselves as it is a necessary skill to thrive in the world we live in today.
Finally, my practice is rooted in my values, some of which include anti-racism work, healthcare equity and inclusion, and having unconditional positive regard for all people. I am just as interested in your unique background, identities, and life experiences as I am your presenting mental health symptoms, so we will talk about both equally!
I've worked with a variety of client populations such as military/veterans and their families, LGBTQ+, college students, oncology patients, foster/adoptive parents, and individuals experiencing homelessness. I consider it a great honor to serve as a vessel to your story and experiences, and I love helping my clients who have survived trauma reclaim their power and take back their health and future. You have already done one of the hardest things, which is reaching out for support! I have learned that the only way out...is through.
I'm looking forward to walking alongside you in this next chapter. Beautiful things await on the other side...see you there!

I have worked with people of all ages since 1981. I went to graduate school, earned an MSW in 1999, and have an advanced clinical license in PA (LCSW). I view therapy as intensive individual teaching to resolve issues that get in the way of moving toward the best person an individual can be. My faith, surrounding myself with family and friends and finding joy in helping others are things that sustain me which keep me in a positive frame of mind.

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri, and I have studied both family and marriage counseling and the regular professional counseling. I have 8 years of experience working as a counselor in various settings. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, couples, individuals, and groups. I have worked in private counseling and outpatient community mental health settings as a counselor. I have also worked inpatient as a psychiatric technician. I have worked a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting issues, change of life concerns, OCD, ADHD, anger management, grief, and personality disorders.
My counseling style is warm and genuine. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in control or coercion. I will voice my belief in what may help you feel better, but you are in the driver's seat. I have long observed that real improvement and changes come when the individual makes decisions and does the work involved. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, narrative, EMDR, DBT, and trauma-informed counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
